ART IN THE TIME OF LOCKDOWN - REBECCA FONTAINE-WOLF & DARREN LYNDE MANN

REBECCA FONTAINE-WOLF
ArtDog London has 5 new mixed media and digital artworks available from London artist Rebecca Fontaine-Wolf. Rebecca has been stuck in Lisbon during the Corona Crisis, here is her story:
"This CoVid-19 Lockdown has been quite challenging, as it has no doubt been for all of us. After coming to Lisbon for my first solo show here in March, I was due to start a 2 month residency. The show was closed early and the residency cancelled. I have now found myself alone in an airbnb in Lisbon, where I will stay until June".

"Thankfully, I have enough space here to have been able to create a make-shift studio in my flat by moving furniture around and was also still able to order materials online. Due to the nature of being in an airbnb I can’t create using my normal working methods and have had to adapt my practice to this new situation".

"The current crisis and the very isolated state I find myself in have also impacted the subject matter of the work I’ve been creating. A new direction which will lead towards a full body of work eventually has begun to emerge. I've turned in on myself, and in this act of self reflection I have once again become the model, and subject of my own work. The main focus is on themes around isolation, self-reflection, the strange sense of self-othering which occurs when every interaction you have with other people is mediated by a screen in which you can see yourself reflected back at you".

DARREN LYNDE MANN

IN COLLABORATION WITH THE OLD BANK VAULT GALLERY

Just as we were planning to hang Darren Lynde Mann’s debut solo show, ‘Renaissance Echoes’, due to open in March COVID-19 came closer to home than we ever imagined. Whilst we had to cancel the Private View and postpone the exhibition not all is lost! We are offering one lucky winner the opportunity to own an original drawing beautifully framed by ArtDog London and join us for the Private View of the re-scheduled show (date to be confirmed).

Go to our instagram page for details. This is only running for the weekend of May 2/3 and winner will be picked at 2 pm on the 2nd.

Upcoming Exhibitions for 2019/2020

Here is my list of exhibitions for the rest of 2019 and the start of 2020. When the new gallery opens finally in Spring 2020, there will an extensive and full schedule of new and innovative exhibitions coming from there.

  • ArtDog at the Station, Wickham Market Train Station, Suffolk, November 15-17thBrockley Open

  • Studios, St. Peter's Church, SE14 1LT, November 23rd.

  • Art & Frame Shop Gallery - Framlingham, Suffolk, December 2-8th

  • Affordable Art Fair, Battersea, London, March 12-15th, 2020

The very next event is again in Suffolk. This time at the Campsea Ashe Station House, which is confusingly the Wickham Market Station (far from Wickham Market and in Campsea Ashe). Artists will be:
Emma Green, Kate Felton, Delia Tournay-Godfrey, Claudia de Vilafames, Bill Jackson, Zoe Rubens, Peter McCarthy and Michael Woods. This is a train station that has all been meticulously and lovingly restored and taken care of. The space is ideal for art and we are hoping to catch travelers who would otherwise not see one of our exhibitions.
