Kim Geyer was born in London and studied textiles at Loughborough. She worked as a freelance designer and lecturer before having a family. Since returning to work she has studied illustration at both Chelsea and Putney.
She is particularly interested in the human form and describes herself as a figurative artist. She works in oil, acrylic, collage, ink and pencil on canvas, board and paper, and digitally. There is a strong graphic influence in her work and she draws inspiration from both contemporary pop culture and personal history. She is also a children’s picture book writer and illustrator. Kim has exhibited at the V&A Museum, Dulwich Picture Gallery, and Bankside Gallery, and is a member of AOI, and SLWA.Her most recent works are entitled After Mother and look at the relationship between creation and loss. The images are presented as if a butterfly print and draw inspiration from natural history, and life cycles.
Kim lives with her husband and three children in South London.
