“My paintings of furniture show a single, deeply considered image. The objects are positioned close to the picture frame emphasizing a sense of interiority. There’s a personal sense of time and the reach of memory that brings out the implicit nature of these pieces. I have approached them with vulnerability and awe.”

Broken down roughly into three parts – the object, the wall and the floor – the painted surfaces are layered with color, creating a sensation of light and carefully balanced tones. Each visual element, object, wall and floor, takes on an equal relationship and importance, inviting the viewer to focus on one single image for an extended length of time.”
