GARRY PARSONS

Inspired by traditional paper folding techniques and Japanese super flat art, Parsons’ works in paper explore the lives of playful characters involved in ‘inner life’ struggles. Representing energies within the body,  the protagonists are on a journey of self-discovery, undergoing alchemical transformations through the challenges of modern life, their only desire to discern truth from illusion.

Reminiscent of the Buddhist mandala, and using familiar graphic motifs, the works are concerned with representing the inner world through narrative and historical uses of paper folding and print making.
