TONI MCGREACHAN

Since graduating from the University of the West of England Toni McGreachan has focused her practise on painting the figure in water. Her work aims to communicate both figurative and abstract elements using gloss and oil paint. She has depicted all types of swimmers in different environments including leisure swimmers and competitive swimmers. Most recently she has worked with young people from swimming clubs and British silver medallist Jo Jackson.

She combines her painting practise with art residencies in schools, galleries and museums. In 2009 she formed her own arts organisation called Eddy where she curates, exhibits and delivers projects with other artists internationally and in the UK. Eddy recently held a show entitled Ping Pong at APT Gallery, Deptford, London with funding from the London Arts Board.

Her paintings are in many private collections and her work has been commissioned for several commercial premises and swimming pools. Her work has been shown in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2007, 2008 and 2009. She is currently artist in residence at Croydon Museum working with their art collection.
