Kim Geyer was born in London and studied textiles at Loughborough. She worked as a freelance designer and lecturer before having a family. Since returning to work she has studied illustration at both Chelsea and Putney.
She is particularly interested in the human form and describes herself as a figurative artist. She works in oil, acrylic, collage, ink and pencil on canvas, board and paper. There is a strong graphic influence in her work and she draws inspiration from both contemporary pop culture and personal history. She is currently writing and illustrating a children’s picture book. She has exhibited at the V&A Museum and the Dulwich Picture Gallery.
Kim lives with her husband and three children in South London.
Her most recent paintings are a semi-autobiographical collection of small, crisp images depicting social and personal commentary. In these she creates characters that are often humorous and contradictory. |
