Following completion of her MA at The Royal College of Art in 1995 Caroline worked as a printed textile designer and illustrator. She started painting full time in 2000 and completed further MA studies in fine art printmaking in 2001.
In addition to exhibiting on an annual basis at art fairs in London, New York, Dublin and venues in Belgium and Holland, Caroline has completed corporate commissions for companies such as 3iplc and World Telecom. She lectures in textile design at Buckingham Chilterns University on a part time basis.
Caroline’s subjects include groups or multiples, observing the relationships and choreographic patterns they form, be it city commuters or other animals and their behaviour.
Utilising her printmaking and painting experience, she works with photography and fragments of digitally scanned images on canvas, working into and extending the images with oils. Her experience as a textile designer is evident in the patterns and repeats featured in some of the paintings - imagery disappearing off the boundaries of the canvases, suggesting an infinite bolt of fabric rather than a picture confined to a square or rectangle.
